What We Mean by Stewardship
HeartFire is not owned by individuals, donors, or leaders. It is held in trust for God's purposes and the good of people. We believe that everything we have—resources, relationships, influence—belongs to the Lord and is entrusted to us for a season.
This means we approach leadership and resources with a posture of responsibility rather than entitlement, service rather than power, and mission rather than control. We are stewards, not owners—accountable to God and to the community we serve.

How HeartFire Is Governed
Our governance is designed to ensure that no single person holds unchecked power. Authority is shared, accountable, and revocable.
Board Oversight
Provides legal, fiduciary, and financial accountability to ensure responsible stewardship of resources and compliance with organizational commitments.
Spiritual Stewardship Council
Guards vision, theology, and culture through prayer and discernment, ensuring alignment with Scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Executive Leadership
Carries out day-to-day operations in alignment with mission and values, serving the movement with humility and diligence.
Power distributed. Decisions accountable. Trust protected.
How We Steward Resources
We steward financial resources with care, prayer, and restraint. Every gift is treated as a sacred trust—not an opportunity for expansion at any cost, but an invitation to faithful service.
- Funds are used conservatively and prayerfully
- Founder compensation is modest and capped
- Surpluses are reinvested into mission and sponsorship
- Financial participation does not confer control or influence

Technology with Discernment
We may use modern tools—including transparency technologies—to increase visibility and accountability in how resources are stewarded. However, we hold these tools loosely.
Technology never overrides spiritual authority, ethics, or discernment. Tools serve the mission—not the other way around. We embrace innovation where it helps, and we set it aside where it hinders the work of the Holy Spirit or the wellbeing of people.
Our Commitment
We commit to steward this work with humility, restraint, transparency, and love—trusting God to grow what He has initiated, and refusing to compromise integrity for speed, scale, or influence.
Our Steward Covenant
This covenant is signed by leaders and stewards of HeartFire. It outlines commitments to humility, accountability, non-coercion, and integrity. It exists to protect people, mission, and trust—and to remind us all of the sacred responsibility we carry.
